Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Network Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will assist in the development, implementation, and support of network infrastructures. They will work closely with senior network engineers to ensure the stability and integrity of the voice, data, video, and wireless network services.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
Participate in the selection and implementation of network-related software and hardware.
Provide technical support to team members and other departments.
Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
Ensure network security and connectivity.
Monitor network traffic for performance optimization.
Engage in regular network troubleshooting activities and resolve network connectivity issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
0-3 years of experience in a network engineering role.
Basic understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.
Basic knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g., Python).
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or other relevant network certifications are a plus.
Working Conditions:
This job may require on-call network support outside of regular business hours.
The role may include some travel to various company locations to support the network infrastructure.
