Première Urgence International (PUI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, and non-religious international aid organization. Our teams are committed to supporting civilian victims of marginalization and exclusion, natural disasters, wars, and economic collapses, by answering their fundamental needs. Our aim is to provide emergency relief to uprooted people in order to help them recover their dignity and regain self-sufficiency. The association leads an average of 190 projects per year in the following sectors of intervention: food security, health, nutrition, infrastructure, WASH, and economic recovery. PUI is providing assistance to 5 million people in 24 countries – in Africa, Asia, Middle East, Eastern Europe and France in 2023.
PUI started implementing operations in Libya since 2017. Currently PUI is implementing activities across Benghazi and Al-Kufra districts in the East of Libya adopting an integrated approach with a main focus on health to support the provision of primary health care services, the rehabilitation and equipment of health facilities and the provision of basic services, including WASH and solar energy activities. Additionally, during the COVID-19 crisis in Libya, the organization adapted its intervention to include Infection Prevention and Control and COVID-19 awareness activities.
In the aftermath of the flooding caused by Storm Daniel in the Eastern part of Libya, PUI is intervening to support affected population providing WASH, Health and MHPSS support in close coordination with other partners on the ground.
Job description
Overall purpose
Under the supervision of the MHT leader and in close cooperation with the rest of the mobile health team members, the Health support officer will be in charge of data collection, data analysis, and sources of verification archiving, as well as supporting the Mobile Health Team in terms of organization of patients flow, MHT operations and logistics, community outreach and education activities and pharmacy management and medicines dispensing.

Assisting with patient registration, intake, and screening processes
Supporting in patients information collection, including medical history, symptoms, and vital signs
Collaboration in Providing basic patient care under the supervision of the general practitioner and sexual and reproductive health doctors
Contributing to identifying any new or worsening symptoms regarding patients health condition and report them to the MHT leader.
MHT Operations and Logistics
Setting up and preparing the workplace for patient visits
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment within the clinic
Coordinating patient appointments and scheduling.
Communicating with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
Assisting with administrative tasks, such as organizing reports.
Health Education
Assisting in liasion between the mobile health clinic and its services and the community
Educating the patients about health and wellness topics.
Assisting in organizing health events and workshops
Patient Advocacy
Understanding interactions with patients from diverse backgrounds
Advocating for patients’ needs and ensuring they receive appropriate care.
Respecting patient privacy and confidentiality
Pharmacy management and medicines dispensing
Support the pharmacist in medication dispensing and patient education when needed
Data collection
Data collection and data entry: Maintaining accurate patient paper-based and electronic records and documentation.
Data archiving: Centralize, collect and compile all the sources of verification and data collected throughout the course of the MHT activities (assessment data, activity and monitoring data, medical data)
Work closely with the MEAL Manager to support in the data analysis and reporting activities
Other duties
Participate in the project team meetings.
Respect PUI rules and report any safety or security information to his/her manager.
Due to the nature of the tasks to be performed, confidentiality is a requirement.
In General, the Collaborator has to remain flexible and perform any other duties as required for the good running of operations

Required Profile

EDUCATION / TRAINING
Bachelor‘s degree (medicine, pharmacy, nursing, public health or other relevant specialization)
Training in community or public health data management
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Experience in health activities
Humanitarian work
Experience designing databases
Experience on implementation of assessment and Monitoring & Evaluation tools within humanitarian context
